Studies on the Incidence of Nasal Bleeding


Abstract
The author have studied on the incidence of epistaxis for 97 Korean affected with nasal bleeding and obtained following results. Nasal bleeding in its frequency is much more in the male than in the female, and further more in spring time and at age of around 20 year old in both sexes.
In patients with septal deformity, it is more frequent at the convex site.
Location of bleeding shows 72% at Little¡¯s area, but posterior area of the inferior meatus should be carefully observed especially in hypertensive patients.
In cause of bleeding, physical exhaustion and emotional stress are more than 89%. And the patients with nasal trauma may accompany the complication of late spontaneous massive bleeding.
